Our Programs provide for multiple age level experiences to accommodate all campers.

Morning Program Science Made Fun

Geology, gemology, paleontology, astronomy, biology, earth science, and entomology all made fun, interactive, and memorable.  Highlights include:  finding diamonds, sluicing for fossils, creating jewelry, tumbling rocks, cracking geodes, instructing water shed modules, cray fishing, star gazing, grasshopper gravity activities and more….

Afternoon Program – A lot of Rock & Gem Mania

Athletic competition, face paintings, frisbee golf, chess, bocci, swimming, arts & crafts, nature walks, backpacking excursions, fly fishing, 4-square tournaments and more……. 

The groups of children ages 6-10 and children ages 11-13 will be following different tracks in the morning.  For lunch,

as well as the afternoon program, all children ages 6-13 will be together.

A mini awards ceremony will be given at the conclusion of each day to celebrate individual and group accomplishments.  The special awards ceremony will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday to honor the vast array of accomplishments made throughout the week.  Family and friends are encouraged to celebrate this occasion with the campers.

… along with geologists, gemologists, environmental geologists, lapidary artists, fly fishermen, professional miners, certified lifeguards and water safety instructors, an EMT, CITs, and trained counselors.  The counselor to student ration is 1 to 8, and have over 40 years of accumulative experience with our camp.

Our Philosophy

The camp is designed to provide quality instruction and fun experiences in a safe environment at an affordable price. It is a camp that encourages the learning of scientific topics and having fun while doing so.  It is also a camp that encourages risk taking and new learning experiences in an effort to enhance campers’ self esteem.

Our Location

The camp will occupy the grounds of the Herkimer Diamond Mines and KOA Park in Middleville, the site of the world famous Herkimer Diamonds and the majestic West Canada Creek.  It is located seven miles north of Herkimer, NY, on Route 28.
